Privacy Policy
TierZero is a privacy site, so we hold ourselves to the standard we ask of the VPNs we review: say exactly what we collect — Google Analytics included — and why.
This policy explains what TierZero collects and why. It is written to be read, not to be survived. If anything here is unclear, email [email protected] and we will explain it plainly. Last updated 9 October 2026.
What we collect
The website itself is static and sets no advertising cookies. We do not sell, rent or share personal data with data brokers — the practice we criticise in dubious free VPNs. If you email us, we keep your message and address only to reply and to track a correction. If you join the newsletter, we store your email address with our email provider solely to send the updates you asked for, and you can unsubscribe from any message.
Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4
We would rather name the tool than hide behind a vague phrase like 'aggregate analytics'. TierZero uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC and Google Ireland Ltd., to learn which pages are read: the pages viewed, the referring site, an approximate location (city or country), device and browser type, and session timing. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are all turned off — the data is not used for advertising and is not sold.
Cookies only come into it once analytics is allowed. At that point GA4 sets the first-party cookies _ga and _ga_<ID>, which can last up to 2 years. Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland see a banner first, and nothing goes to Google unless they click Accept. Elsewhere, analytics starts switched on, and you can turn it off at any time. A Global Privacy Control signal from your browser counts as an opt-out. We remember your answer in your browser's local storage (the key is analytics-consent), not in a cookie.
Open Cookie settings to bring the banner back and change your answer. Google's privacy policy covers what it does on its side, and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on blocks GA across the whole web.
Affiliate links and third parties
Some outbound links are affiliate links. When you click one, the destination provider and its affiliate network may set their own cookies to attribute a later signup — that is their processing, governed by their policies, not ours. We explain which links these are in our affiliate disclosure. We never pass your email or identity to them.
Your choices
You can browse the site without providing any personal information, unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, and email [email protected] to ask what we hold about you or to have it deleted. Because we collect so little, those requests are usually simple to honour. This policy may be updated as the site changes; material changes will be noted on this page.
